Assistant Director
The Union County Emergency Medical Services Department is hiring for a full-time Assistant Director to help run our EMS department. This position will report to the EMS Director and will be the primary responder to all major incident in the county while on duty, including brush fires, structure fires, and traffic crashes, as well as EMS calls. This position will coordinate and oversee the Community Paramedicine program and coordinate with the Volunteer Fire Department ensuring stations and equipment are in order, training requirements are met, and to establish monthly trainings and operational meetings. This position is eligible for full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, and supplemental health insurances, Florida State Retirement benefits, a Deferred Compensation retirement plan through Nationwide, PTO and paid holidays. This position is deemed essential and must be able to respond in all declared emergencies and disasters. Salary to be negotiated based on experience. Applicants must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License, a State of Florida Paramedic’s License, and ACLS Certification. FULL ASSISTANT DIRECTOR DESCRIPTION
Call-Time Paramedic
The Union County Emergency Medical Services Department is hiring multiple call-time Paramedics and EMTs to help serve our community. The primary purpose of this position is to provide Advanced Life Support Level and Basic Life Support Level emergency medical treatment & transport to the sick and injured. The goal of this position is to perform high quality assessments of the sick and injured, to determine most appropriate course of medical treatment based upon that assessment, to provide the determined course of treatment to the sick and injured in the most efficient, beneficial, and professional manner while on-scene or during ambulance transport to a receiving medical facility. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid FL Driver’s License, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and FDLE background check. All applicants must also posess a 16-hour Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC). Applicants for Paramedic positions must have a valid State of FL Paramedic Certification and ACLS Certification. Pay starts at $15.00/hr and may be higher depending on certifications and experience. Dump Truck/ Equipment Operator II
The Union County Road Department is hiring a full-time Dump Truck/ Heavy Equipment Operator II position to assist with maintaining the County’s roadways. This position will perform skilled tasks in the operation of “Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B” comination vehichles. They will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of any of the heavy equipment owned by the County; primarily dump trucks, front-end loader, backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, Gradall, packer/roller, and mowing tractor. Starting pay for this position is $16.00/hr. Schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:00PM. Must be available on-call 24/7 during any declared disaster or emergency to assist with keeping the roadways clear. Position is eligible for all full-time benefits including including medical, dental, vision, and supplemental health insurances, Florida State Retirement benefits, a Deferred Compensation retirement plan through Nationwide, PTO and paid holidays.
