Emergency Medical Director
The Union County Board of County Commissioners’ Emergency Medical Services Department is looking to hire a full-time Director to oversee operations of the Union County EMS Department. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, providing emergency medical care, and coordinating with the Volunteer Fire Department on Fire Rescue services. Pay range is $72,000 – $76,000 annually. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM, and requires on-call availability 24/7 during any declared disasters or emergencies. Applicants must have a tenure in EMS with 3 years of managerial experience in Advanced Life Support Level Emergency Medical Services, EMS operations supervisor, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, state license as a paramedic, and EVOC certification. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and FDLE background check. Union County Road Department
General Laborer/ Inmate Supervisor I
The Union County Board of County Commissioners’ Road Department is looking to hire a full-time General Laborer/ Inmate Supervisor I position to assist with maintaining the County’s roadways. Pay starts at $15.00/hr, Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM. Performs work supervising and assisting an inmate work squad in obtaining and disposing of refuse and debris from County roadways and mowing, weed eating, and landscape maintenance. Must be able to safely operate a County van with trailer attached. Employee is also responsible for performing other unskilled labor tasks as requested by Supervisor, which may include carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, pressure cleaning, etc. Will assist in preparation and aftermath of major emergencies such as hurricanes or other natural disasters. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), a valid Driver’s License, and a combination of experience, training, and education which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOC background check.
