The Union County Board of County Commissioners is hiring a Code Enforcement/ Planning and Zoning Director position. This position is an exempt full-time position, with an expected work schedule of 40hrs/week, Monday – Friday. Starting annual salary between $65,000 – $72,000. Primary duties include assisting the Building Code Administrator and the public with all matters relating to the County’s Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations, and acting as the County’s Code Enforcement Officer. Must be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to Comprehensive Plans/Land Development Regulations, and Code Enforcement, including zoning codes. Dump truck/Heavy Equipment Operator I
The Union County Road Department is looking to hire a full-time Dump truck/Heavy Equipment Operator I position to assist in maintaining the County’s roadways. Responsibilities include the safe and efficient operation of any heavy equipment, primarily dump trucks, loaders, and backhoe. This position will be required to obtain a certification to supervise inmates to assist with other projects as needed. Hours are expected to be 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM. The pay for this position starts at $16.00/hour. Applicants must have at least one to three years related experience, be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), and a valid Florida Driver’s License with at least a Class B CDL. Applicants who do not yet possess a valid CDL but have obtained their CDL permit may be allowed; financial assistance is available through the County, if hired, with additional conditions of employment. Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOC background check. Physical requirements include being able to move/lift 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs. Animal Control Technician
The Union County Solid Waste Department is hiring a full-time Animal Control Technician position. Responsibilities will include picking up, delivering and servicing animals and animal traps, as well as taking care of impounded animals, such as feeding, watering, bathing and medicating the animals. Must be able to maintain and complete logs, folders, and other clerical duties.This position is 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday, and must be available after hours, on weekends, and holidays for on-call rotation.
