Emergency Medical Director
The Union County Board of County Commissioners’ Emergency Medical Services Department is looking to hire a full-time Director to oversee operations of the Union County EMS Department. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, providing emergency medical care, and coordinating with the Volunteer Fire Department on Fire Rescue services. Pay range is $72,000 – $76,000 annually. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM, and requires on-call availability 24/7 during any declared disasters or emergencies. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance coverages, PTO, paid holidays, Florida State Retirement benefits, and Deferred Compensation plans with Nationwide. Applicants must have a tenure in EMS with 3 years of managerial experience in Advanced Life Support Level Emergency Medical Services, EMS operations supervisor, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, state license as a paramedic, and EVOC certification. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and FDLE background check. Dump Truck and Equipment Operator I
The Union County Board of County Commissioners’ Road Department is looking to hire a full-time Dump Truck and Equipment Operator I position to assist with maintaining the County’s roadways. Pay starts at $16.00/hr, Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM. Requires On-Call availability 24/7 during any declared disaster or emergency. Performs skilled tasks operating heavy equipment, primarily dump trucks, front-end loaders, and backhoe. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), a valid Driver’s License with at least a Class B CDL endorsement, and one to three years of related experience. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOC background check. Applicants with a CDL permit may be considered if Class B CDL can be obtained in a timely manner. Financial Assistance for CDLs may be available with additional conditions of employment. The Union County Board of County Commissioners’ Solid Waste Department is looking to hire a full-time General Laborer/Inmate Supervisor I position to supervise and assist inmate work squads in disposing of refuse and debris from County Facilities and Collection Sites, as well as assist with facility maintenance. Pay starts at $15.00/hr, Monday – Friday 7:15AM – 3:15PM. Requires On-Call availability 24/7 during any declared disaster or emergency. Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor tasks as requested which may include carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and pressure cleaning. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), a valid Driver’s License, and a combination of experience, training, and education which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
