Call-Time Paramedic and EMTs
The Union County Emergency Medical Services Department is hiring multiple call-time Paramedics and EMTs to help serve our community. The primary purpose of this position is to provide Advanced Life Support Level and Basic Life Support Level emergency medical treatment & transport to the sick and injured. The goal of this position is to perform high quality assessments of the sick and injured, to determine most appropriate course of medical treatment based upon that assessment, to provide the determined course of treatment to the sick and injured in the most efficient, beneficial, and professional manner while on-scene or during ambulance transport to a receiving medical facility. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid FL Driver’s License, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and FDLE background check. All applicants must also posess a 16-hour Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC). Applicants for Paramedic positions must have a valid State of FL Paramedic Certification and ACLS Certification. Applicants for EMT positions must have a valid State of FL EMT Certification and BLS certification. Pay starts at $15.00/hr and may be higher depending on certifications and experience. Collection Site Attendant
The Union County Solid Waste Department is hiring a full-time Collection Site Attendant to oversee and operate a County Waste Collection Site. Pay starts at $15.00/hr. Schedule during the week is Monday, Tuesday, and Friday or Wednesday through Friday, contingent on which site you’re assigned, 9AM – 6PM, Saturday 9AM – 6PM, and Sunday 1PM – 5PM. Eligible for full-time benefits including PTO, Paid Holidays, insurance benefits, and Florida State Retirement benefits. May be called to work extra days or hours during or after disasters or emergencies. Performs all work to oversee and operate the collection site. Must be able to perform curteous and professional customer service for all Union County residents. General Laborer/ Inmate Supervisor I
The Union County Board of County Commissioners’ Road Department is looking to hire a full-time General Laborer/ Inmate Supervisor I position to assist with maintaining the County’s roadways. Pay starts at $15.00/hr, Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM. Eiligible for full-time benefits including PTO, paid holidays, insurance benefits, and Florida State Retirement benefits. Performs work supervising and assisting an inmate work squad in obtaining and disposing of refuse and debris from County roadways and mowing, weed eating, and landscape maintenance. Must be able to safely operate a County van with trailer attached. Employee is also responsible for performing other unskilled labor tasks as requested by Supervisor, which may include carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, pressure cleaning, etc. Will assist in preparation and aftermath of major emergencies such as hurricanes or other natural disasters. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), a valid Driver’s License, and a combination of experience, training, and education which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOC background check.
